Once a sanatorium, a place of recovery
Built in 1898 as Hedalen Sanatorium, the house welcomed guests seeking fresh mountain air, rest and healing. Surrounded by forests and silence, it became a landmark in the valley and a place where people came to recover.
For decades, these halls witnessed arrivals, departures and stories that shaped the region. Long before tourism arrived, this house already welcomed travellers from far away.

Today, the Country Event Hotel, better known as Heartbreak Hotel, is one of three escapes by BLACOON Retreats AS in Norway. While the building was once dedicated to healing and recovery, it now welcomes travellers for entirely new reasons. zin Norway.
